Did the Italian explorer Christopher
Columbus really discover America? It's
believed that travelers from China got there
first. They crossed the Pacific to Mexico in
the fifth century. In fact, Columbus landed in
the Bahamas in 1492 and never got to North
America. America was not even named after
Christopher Columbus. It was named after
Amerigo Vespucci, who landed in America in
the late fifteenth century。
誰發現了美洲?
真的是意大利探險家克里斯多弗.哥倫布發現美洲的嗎?一
般相信來自中國的旅行者最先到達那里。他們在第五世紀時即橫
渡太平洋到了墨西哥。事實上，哥倫布在1 4 9 2 年登陸巴哈馬
群島，但卻未曾到達北美洲。美洲甚至不是以克里斯多弗.哥倫
布的名字命名的。它是以在1 5世紀末登陸美洲的亞美利哥.維
斯浦奇的名字命名的。
