Bottoms up

按字面意義，bottoms（底）up（朝上），即“把酒喝干了”。

Bottoms up, gentlemen. It's time to hit the road.把酒喝干了，各位，該出發(fā)了！

Bottoms up!（干杯！）  

Has everyone been served? All right, then, bottoms up!（大家的酒都上了嗎？　那就干杯！）只是要注意這是很隨意的口語表現(xiàn)，在婚禮等正式場合，不宜使用bottoms up!來表示干杯。那么該用什么詞呢？有人死記干杯就是Cheers!，其實(shí)也只用于熟人之間的隨意語，Here's mud in your eye.則更加隨意，只適合于少數(shù)幾個(gè)親密伙伴間飲酒時(shí)使用。

正式場合表達(dá)干杯時(shí)，有很多表達(dá)方式，下面就舉一些較有代表性的例子。

I propose a toast to ~ 的句型。to ~后面接的是干杯的對象，人或事。I propose a toast to the happy couple.為兩人的幸福干杯！I propose a toast to the continued success of our venture.（為我們的事業(yè)更上一層樓而干杯！）

當(dāng)然了，稍微變換一下，如May I propose a toast?或I would like to propose a toast，也是很不錯(cuò)的表現(xiàn)。像I propose a toast (to the happy couple)?或I would like to propose a toast (to the continued success of our venture)這樣，to ~后面可以省略。

而直接用To the happy couple.或To the continued success of our venture也可以簡練的表達(dá)，為什么而干杯。常看DVD的朋友肯定對此很熟悉。
