Message by UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima on Zero Discrimination Day

Today, we mark Zero Discrimination Day, established by UNAIDS 10 years ago, to advance equality and fairness for everyone.
今天我們紀念零歧視日。為了促進人人平等和公平，聯合國艾滋病規劃署在10年前設立了這個紀念日。
Global solidarity has secured progress on human rights and towards equality.
全球已在保護人權、邁向平等方面取得了進步。
Today, 50 million more girls are in school, since 2015.
自2015年至今，全球入學女孩的人數已增加了5000萬。
At the start of the AIDS pandemic, most countries in the world criminalized LGBTQ people. But today, two thirds of countries do “not” criminalize.
在艾滋病流行之初，世界上大多數國家曾將LGBTQ人群視為犯罪分子。而如今，2/3的國家已不再對他們定罪。
38 countries have pledged to end stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.
38個國家已承諾消除針對艾滋病病毒感染者的污名和歧視。
Much progress. But this progress is not secure. Attacks on the rights of women and girls, attacks on LGBTQ people and of other marginalized communities are on the rise.
這些都是巨大的進步，但是這些進步并不能讓我們高枕無憂。對婦女權利、LGBTQ群體和其他邊緣群體的攻擊正在增加。
The forces pushing back human rights are also rolling back democratic gains, such as the right of citizens to organize.

In our world of public health, discrimination obstructs HIV prevention, testing, treatment and care, and holds back progress towards the end of AIDS.
在全球的公共衛生領域，歧視阻礙著艾滋病的預防、檢測、治療和關懷，令全球終結艾滋病的腳步停滯不前。
Public health is undermined when laws, policies, practices or beliefs punish, discriminate or stigmatize people because they happen to be women, or LGBTQ, or migrants, or sex workers, or use drugs.
當法律、政策、習俗或信仰僅僅因為他們的身份而懲罰、歧視、污名婦女、LGBTQ、性工作者或毒品使用者時，公共衛生就會受到損害。
But around the world, I’m happy to say, communities most affected by discrimination, and those who support them are coming together to insist on the human rights of everyone, everywhere.
但是，我很高興地說，世界各地受歧視影響最嚴重的群體正與那些支持他們的人們團結起來，堅持每個人無論身在何處，都應享有人權。
It is only by protecting everyone’s rights that we can protect everyone’s health.
只有保護每個人的權利，我們才能保護每個人的健康。
Through upholding rights for all without discrimination, we will be able to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and to secure a safer, fairer, kinder and happier world for everyone.
通過維護每個人的權利，不歧視，我們將能夠實現聯合國可持續發展目標，確保每個人都生活在一個更安全、更公平、更友好、更幸福的世界。
