Message by UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the Day of Remembrance for All Victims of Chemical Warfare

The Day of Remembrance for All Victims of Chemical Warfare is a solemn occasion to pay tribute to those killed or injured by these horrific weapons.
化學戰受害者紀念日是向因此類可怖武器而傷亡的受害者致敬的莊嚴場合。
This year marks ten years since the deadly chemical weapons attack in the Ghouta district of Damascus that resulted in numerous civilian casualties, including many children. Today, we remember this horrible incident and others in the Syrian Arab Republic, the United Kingdom and Malaysia.
今年是大馬士革古塔區發生致命化學武器襲擊事件十周年，此次襲擊造成包括許多兒童在內的大量平民傷亡。今天，我們要銘記這一可怖事件以及發生在阿拉伯敘利亞共和國、聯合王國和馬來西亞的其他事件。
This day of remembrance must also be a day of resolve to end the use of these repugnant weapons, once and for all.
這一紀念日也必須成為我們下定決心永不使用這些可憎武器之日。
Ending this scourge means living up to the Chemical Weapons Convention’s call to prevent the use of any chemical weapons, and ending impunity for those who use them, especially against civilians.
終結這一禍患意味著踐行《化學武器公約》關于防止使用任何化學武器的呼吁，結束化學武器使用者不受懲罰的現象，特別是不能讓針對平民使用此類武器的人逍遙法外。
In the name and memory of all who have suffered, let’s consign chemical weapons to history.
